Springtime!

This week we made spring flowers with chalk pastels.  We did some awesome doodle art.  We've been building boats and learning about sinking and floating and how to properly construct a boat by testing lots of things.  We are learning about how to tell time.  We had at fun at school today!

Leprechauns!

Well, after all our efforts, we didn't catch the leprechaun.  We came in this morning to a MESS!  It had written nasty things on the board and left us "treats" at our traps.  What a stinker!  Next year we'll get him!!

It's our Leighton Centre Art to Go time tomorrow morning.  We'll be doing wire sculptures.

Our dance for Family Dance night is going well too.  We sure can boogie!

See you soon.

Leprechauns and Dancing!

Another busy week!  We're gearing up for St. Patrick's Day with our Leprechaun Traps.  We are all very engaged in our work.

We are reading, writing, and doing math like crazy, with lots of hands-on activities.  Watch for 3D creatures to come home soon.  Art to Go is coming up on Friday morning as well.

Finally, the Family Dance is next week already and we have been practicing in P.E. with Miss Nikki and having lots of fun!

Welcome Back to our Blog!

Welcome back to our blog!  This week has been busy and fun.  Our science has been about exploring liquids.  The experiment in the picture was all about density.

In Social Studies we've been exploring Bouctouche, New Brunswick.  Also today we started to plan how we can make our own Leprechaun Traps for Saint Patrick's Day next week.

This week is Student-Led Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday.  It's going to be fun to show you what we're doing!

We are having fun at school.  Have a good day!

Electronics Day Tomorrow!

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Our class has surpassed 1000 Dojo points for being proactive!  This means that we get a reward day.  The students have chosen to have an electronics day, where they are allowed to bring an electronic to use in the classroom at an appropriate time.  These electronic devices will be kept safely locked up when we are not in class and they will not be allowed outside.  If that is okay with you, then please send a device with your child.  If not, no problem!

Have a great Wednesday!

Field Trip Information

Our field trip is tomorrow!

Some info:
  • Please pack a bag lunch as we will not be bringing backpacks.
  • Please send your child with appropriate layers of clothing as we will be spending longer periods of time outside.  It will be very cool tomorrow.  Also, as with all of our field trips, please have your child wear his or her Joe Clark t-shirt if he/she has one.
  • We will be leaving on the bus by 9 am or slightly earlier in order to make it to our first program on time.
  • We will be gone all day, arriving back at the school for regular dismissal.
